Filiberto Landa, owner of El Fogon Tacos & Beer in Oak Park, Wisconsin didn’t know that a simple radio commercial about merchant cash advances would impact his business so positively, but sometimes being in the right place, at the right time can change a person’s future for years to come.
The commercial talked about how these types of companies worked with small businesses when banks might not. As any good businessperson would do, Landa started researching merchant cash advance companies like the one he heard about from the commercial. He read reviews and checked with the Better Business Bureau, which is where he first learned about Rapid Capital Funding (RCF).
“Not all of the other companies had such a good rating,” Landa said of RCF’s A+ Accredited Business Rating. “It made the decision pretty easy.”
That was more than three years ago. Since then, Landa has partnered with RCF on multiple advances to renovate his restaurant and obtain a liquor license, something that a traditional bank loan would not fund. He said the resistance he was getting from banks on using the funds for a license, which the banks labeled as risky yet he saw as necessary, is what initially got him interested in a merchant cash advance.
The restaurant’s renovation and the addition of a bar service has helped Landa increase his profits, allowing him to consider the possibility of expanding his business. He credits this possibility to the changes he has implemented with the funds obtained from RCF. It is these changes that has helped increase the overall popularity of the restaurant, and has strengthened demand for another location.
When Landa is ready to bring the new location to life, he will be excited to work with RCF again. “I always say they’re a nice silent partner.”
